About the Foundation

Sustaining the Tradition of Outstanding Schools in Lake Oswego—

Since 1986, the Foundation has worked to provide additional funds to the Lake Oswego School District.

These funds are used only to hire additional classroom teachers which are the backbone of the district’s outstanding success.

That vision is that every child in the Lake Oswego School District receive a world-class education.

Because of the generous support of this community, we were able to raise over $1.9 million last year. This has allowed the district, for the first time in many years, to add classroom teachers district-wide and to provide additional electives at both high schools. The goal of the Foundation to reduce the student-teacher ratio has paid high dividends resulting in:

outstanding student performance;
high graduation rates;
large percentage of college bound students;
an "Excellent" rating by the State of Oregon on the State Report Card.

The Foundation conducts an annual campaign in the early spring of the year. It provides the greatest source of revenue. Other revenue sources are business programs, programs for realtors and mortgage lenders , corporate matching funds, direct mail and special events.

Our endowment program, The Stafford Society, has been established to provide sustaining funds for the Foundation.
