There are 2 ways to make a difference in the educational future of Lake Oswego's children:

|
For each of the past several years, the Foundation has contributed as much as $2.3 million to the Lake Oswego School District to augment the following year’s school budget. All funds raised are used to hire or retain teachers across the district. In this way, the Foundation is able to help keep class sizes small, and enable a breadth of class and special program offerings that keep our school district strong. We’re extremely grateful for the strong community support we’ve continued to receive over the years, and proud of the fact that 100% of all money raised goes directly into the school district budget for teachers.
To accomplish our objectives, the Foundation sponsors several fundraising activities throughout the year:
- Calling Campaign/Phonathon
- Annual Luncheon
- Community Sponsored Activities: e.g., talent shows, walkathons, community service work days
- School Sponsored Activities: varies by school, includes spaghetti dinners, movie nights, wine and cheese events, etc.
|
Your support for any and all of these activities is critical to our ability to reach our fundraising goals.
We like to see strong participation from all families with children currently in the district, as well as support from alumni, relatives, and even empty nesters, as every bit contributes to the vitality of our community.
If you are interested in volunteering for any of our fundraising activities, please call the Foundation office at (503) 534-2304.

When you contribute to the Stafford Society, the endowment fund of the Foundation, you are helping Lake Oswego build a self-sustaining mechanism to provide ongoing funding for education in our district.
You may be inspired to give because you had a teacher once who changed your life in some way and you want to give back. Or, you may give because you believe in the economic payback of high quality education—and understand that good schools keep the Lake Oswego housing market strong, and educated students go on to contribute to the community and society in any number of tangible and meaningful ways. Finally, you may give to celebrate an important milestone or rite of passage in the life of someone you love.
Regardless of your reason, the lasting impact of planned giving—for donations both large and small— is significant. Knowing one’s future gift legacy will live on and benefit others can be deeply satisfying and rewarding, and, it can be structured in any number of ways to maximize your financial and philanthropic objectives.
After taking care of your loved ones, we encourage all Lake Oswego residents to consider including the Foundation in your estate plans. It is an easy, yet high impact way to support the community and preserve your legacy of support for education.
