“Red Carpet Event” Leaves the Audience Cheering &
Motivated to Support Lake Oswego Schools
Award-winning screenwriter Mike Rich was greeted by a record number of attendees at the annual Lake Oswego School District Foundation Luncheon. Over 270 people helped the LOSD Foundation kick off the annual campaign, a 45% increase in attendance from previous years.
Following the featured presentation, several attendees announced surprise gifts which garnered standing ovations. Dan Heine, President of Bank of Lake Oswego was introduced as the leader of the community business campaign titled “Don’t Fail Our Schools”, and he met that challenge with a $100,000 donation to the annual campaign. John Stirek Sr. pledged that the Fairbridge Foundation would match all dollars raised at the event (up to $250,000) to go toward the LOSD Foundation Endowment. Superintendent Bill Korach pledged a $75,000 gift next year to fund a teacher.
